Free Statistical Consultation for ´óÏó´«Ã½ Undergraduate Students

The free Statistical Consultation for ´óÏó´«Ã½ Undergraduate Students concluded last May 13, 2024 at E-307 College of Arts and Sciences (CAS) Building.

The free consultation was an opportunity for ´óÏó´«Ã½ians to improve the statistical methods of their researches. It was spearheded by the BS Statistics fourth year student, supervised by the Statistical Communication and Consulting Instructor, Asst. Prof. Anthony F. Capili, and in collaboration with the ´óÏó´«Ã½-Research and Development Center for Arts and Sciences (RDCAS), headed by Dr. Ariel C. Pedrano.

CAS Research Congress 2024

The ´óÏó´«Ã½-Research and Development Center for Arts and Sciences (RDCAS) successfully conducted the 2024 CAS Research Congress held at the College of Arts and Sciences (CAS) Building last May 10, 2024.

Organized by the RDCAS Center Manager, Dr. Ariel C. Pedrano, the Congress would not have been made possible without the help of the following Program Heads: Dr. Stephanie O. Espinola of BS Mathematics, Asst. Prof. Anthony F. Capili of BS Statistics, Mr. Yves Paul M. Montero of BS Biology, and Ms. Reah Izza T. Paglinawan of BA in Literature and Cultural Studies.

Present at the said event were Dr. Marnie Grace I. Sonico, Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences; Dr. Jeneifer C. Nueva, Vice President for Academic Affairs; Dr. Eveyth P. Deligero, Dean of the Office of Advanced Studies; and faculty members of the College of Arts and Sciences.

The research congress started with a short program and followed by parallel sessions. This event provided opportunities for all students to showcase their research outputs, share ideas in a scholarly environment, and develop among students the culture of research.

The CAS Research Congress is one of the many activities that CAS annually conducts as it continues to actively contribute to the realization of the University’s vision of becoming a premier research university transforming communities in the ASEAN and beyond.

Apart from BS Biology, BS Statistics, BS Math, BA in Literature and Cultural Studies, CAS also offers BA in English Language major in Applied Linguistics whose first batch of students will start joining next year’s CAS Research Congress.

Monitoring and Evaluation of Ongoing Research Programs/Projects/Studies of the College of Arts and Sciences for the First Quarter FY 2024

The University of Southeastern ´óÏó´«Ã½ Research and Development Center for Arts and Sciences (´óÏó´«Ã½-RDCAS) presented the monitoring and evaluation of ongoing research programs, projects, and studies for the First Quarter last April 15, 2024 at the College of Arts and Sciences (CAS) Dean’s Office.
Present during the activity were Dr. Ariel C. Pedrano - Center Manager, Rosvelio L. Alan, Jr. – RDCAS Staff, Dr. Merlina H. Juruena - Research and Development Division Director, Ms. Babylyn B. Estabillo - Education Program Specialist I, Mr. Kevin C. Viray - Education Program Specialist II, Ms. Jelive S. Octobre - Statistician II, and Ms. Donna Joy M. Simbajon - R&D Staff.

Research Center Managers attend website development training for the Center

The ´óÏó´«Ã½ Research Center Managers and RDE staff recently attending the training for the website development on July 4, 2023 at RDE Conference - ´óÏó´«Ã½ Obrero Campus. This activity purposely enhances the capacity of the Center to develop the website for updating any information related to the research activities of the faculty, staff and students. The training is facilitated by the Public Affairs Division.

CAS Research Activity Series 2023

The Center had conducted the Research Activity Series on March 21-22 and 24, 2023. This activity was participated in by the faculty and staff intended to come up with research proposals aligned with the RDE agenda. Moreover, contextualization of GAD and SDG related proposals was highlighted during the training on March 21-22, 2023. Dr. Joyce Limbaga, GAD Coordinator of CARS invited as the trainer. The proposals were evaluated according to the GAD scorecard instrument. Same thing was done with the SDG alignment with Dr. Grace Bacaltos. The activity series was culminated on March 24, 2023 for an In-House review with the evaluation - Dr. Silverio Magallon, Jr. as external reviewer. There were at least 4 projects and 2 studies presented and reviewed for research and extension proposals. The event was concluded by LORDEiC with Dr. Eveyth P. Deligero as the presiding officer.
